As my new title suggests, I am starting over. I have a second chance at so many things in life. No, I didn't expect to be in this position, but life isn't supposed to go the way that we have it planned. Life isn't supposed to be fair or easy. It's supposed to be trial and error and hard work and loving and forgiving and getting hurt. That my friends is what has happened. I lived, I learned, I loved and then I got hurt. I'm still working on the forgiving part and I sure as #$%& won't be forgetting things any time soon.
Let me catch you up... I'm still living in the apartment at my parents' house. I still have my sweet, hairy, sickly Mastiff Amos. I still have the same job and for the most part, I have the same friends. The TRUE ones anyway. Man, you really do learn who your friends are when you have something big happen in your life.
Now for the things that are different... I'm driving a new car (YIPPEE!!!), I have a new attitude, I have a retail therapy issue I'm strongly working on (check out mint.com!) and I now live alone. That's all I'll say about that for now.
In January my world turned upside down. Yes, it's now May, but I'm still dealing with things. 2012 has been a doozy and I can honestly say I am already looking forward to 2013. No, I don't want to rush my life away, but there are some chapters in a book that just aren't worth reading! Know what I mean?!
On a positive note (because we're all supposed to be optimists, right?),
I want to, but won't get into the 'real friends' part just yet. I do want to tell you that without Jenessa and Kayla I'm not quite sure where I would be! You think you're close with someone until you have a life altering event and then you KNOW just how close you are. Those two have literally picked me up and dusted me off. Neither of those girls sugar coat. They're straight up and honest and they might just hurt my feelings, but they do it becasue they love me. I want to say something about my mother, too, but the words escape me. She's been my rock and she knows exactly what to do and when and how to do it (most of the time!). There is nothing better on Earth than a mother's love.
I am done sharing for now, but I will tell you this... Life Goes On. It's really one.day.at.a.time, but it does go on! If you aren't familiar with Sara Evans then you should google her song Stronger. Hmm, I think when I do come back I'll update you with what's been playing on my iPod lately!
Have a great afternoon! I'm headed home to put on my stretchy pants and hang out with my post-surgery dog!
