Friday's Letters

I think I'll start something new today. It's Friday's Letters and it looks like something I would enjoy! :)

Dear Work Week: You have taken your dear sweet time this week. Thank you for finally bringing us Friday.

Dear Propane Truck Driver: You are a complete moron! The next time you're driving a propane truck I would suggest looking in all directions before rolling through the four-way stop. You could have blown us both to smithereens!

Dear Allergy Mess: Get out of my head!! I am in desperate need of a really good, fun, relaxing weekend. You are not welcomed. Get out now.

Dear Kelly: I'm going to miss you tonight! I hope you get some much needed rest after taking your GMAT today. I didn't wish you luck because you didn't need it. You're awesome.

Dear New Pen-Pal: Thanks for letting me have some time to vent and being so kind about it. The world needs more people like you.

Dear Kayla: I have read your card almost a dozen times and each and every time still brings a tear to my eye. Thank you for being here for me.

Dear Co-worker Ricky: Vacation is over. Get back to work.

Dear Annoying Person: You are really getting on my nerves and I really want you to stop.Take a hint and leave me alone. Geez. If you don't then things are going to get ugly around here, and no one wants it to get ugly.

Dear Favorite Pair of Silver Jeans: What happened? I thought we were friends but now you went and got too tight?! Shame on you!

And last but not least:

Dear Next Week: I have no idea what you hold for me, but I ask you one thing. Be easy with me, please.

Thanks,
Cassie

Bittersweet Memories

Did anyone else just start singing that song? No? Oh, OK... moving on...
Bittersweet. The definition of "bittersweet": both pleasant and painful or regretful. Yep, that's what it is alright.

One day i hope to be open and honest and actually talk about things, but I'm a private person by nature so who knows when that day will come?! I will say that this week will be bittersweet for me. Yes, it's only Monday, but just knowing what this week holds I'm already looking forward to Friday. I plan on enjoying my weekend to.the.fullest. though. I have no definite plans yet, but that's normally when things turn out really well! Let's hope.

I guess I should back up and fill you (myself) in on the weekend! Friday was a long day at work and then 5 o'clock showed up! I ran a few errands around town then headed home. PJs, face washed and snuggled on the couch is a great way to spend a Friday! Saturday started out being a lazy day (even if I had to wake up early to have breakfast with mom, dad and Chloe (my 6 yr old niece). Then we had to play, and play, and play some more. Then I snuck out for more alone time!

Right after lunch we found out we were going to eat with my brother-in-law's family. So, my bro-in-law, Brian, his mom, his step dad, his sister and her boyfriend plus my mom, sister, niece and myself all load up in the mother-in-law's big van and we take off to a new restaurant in the edge of TN. It's called
Top O The River and it is YUMMY. We got our bellies full and headed out for a drive around Pickwick and Michie and pretty much everywhere in between before we took Brian's sister and boyfriend back to their camper at Goat Island. Yes, it was named after goats because they are everywhere. When we got home at 7:05 we rushed and cleaned up and out the door by 7:15 so we could make it to the theater by 7:30 to watch Madagascar 3. Well, on the way we found out it started at 7:15 and we left at 7:15 and it's 20 miles + away so you do the math... what did this Aunt do to keep the niece happy? Drove faster! We got there just in time! We missed all the previews though (darn! ha!).

Sunday was Father's Day. My mom cooked pancakes for us and then I was off to church. I sat by my 3rd set of grandparents, Mr. Taylor and his lovely wife Mrs. Violet. Oh how I wish I had a picture of these two! After service was Sunday School then I rushed down the road so I could make it to my mom's church on time. Yes, I had to be there and yes I remembered to wear red! (We'll come back to this). We got home and visited with dad for a while then I went back to my apartment and my couch and took a much needed nap. These are the days I live for! Now, the red thing... my grandfather was a wonderful, loving, huge hearted man that we all loved dearly. One night in January 2000 he had an accident and lost his life. His favorite color was red and therefore we show our support by wearing red on holidays such as that. I'll have to post a picture of him soon!

So that brings us to Monday when I started this blog post. This week the big guy in Operations is on vacation and this explains why it's Thursday and I'm still typing from Monday. This week has been bad for more than one reason and I'm ready to kiss it goodbye!!!!!

Tomorrow is a new day and Friday and that brings me back to the bittersweet part of this post. Yes, I'm happy that it's Friday and I'll have the weekend to do what I want when I want (and I'm 95% certain that involves lots of retail therapy!!!). This week marks the end of an era; the end of a decade. And that my friends is what is the bitter part of bittersweet. Something bad comes to an end but also something great. I wish I could put it all into words (either written or spoken) but for now those words will stay in my head and in my heart. That's the best place for them to be now anyway.

I have no idea what this weekend holds or what next week holds, but luckily I know WHO holds tomorrow and he's been super busy keeping up with me the past 6 months!

Enough for now! I'll try my darnedest to be back with something bright, cheery, and positive next week!

What I Love Wednesday!

Link up here...

I'm loving these small cans! Of course, I prefer the Dr. Pepper, but I can't find a picture of them so Coke will have to work!

I'm loving this new deo for summer time :)

I love this dress so I bought it, but I have no idea where I'll wear it!

I love this new shirt I bought!

I switched back to Clinique mild soap- you just can't beat it!

I'm loving this new cereal! It is healthy, but still tastes yummy!

Do you love what I love? Or something different? Let me know!

What I Love Wednesday

Make sure you link up today!

I'm loving the new Dove line. I've only tried the dry shampoo, but I have friends that have loved everything they've tried!

I'm loving that it's officially Sno-Cone time around here! My favorite is homemade ice cream with cream topping! Yum!

Ulta's Amped Lashes is the best mascara I've found so far. I have short, thin lashes but this does the trick!

New car = new bling! I got this plate frame from Whit, a friend, and I LoVe it!

Last, but certainly not least, is Melatonin! I've had trouble sleeping lately {imagine that?!} and this stuff helps without leaving you with a groggy feeling.
That's all for now! It's lunch time :)

Start the Music

Life is one grand, sweet song, so start the music {Ronald Reagan}
I'm going to jump right in and show you where I've been spending most of my money... iTunes!
  • Adele- Duh! Pretty much every song of hers is now on my iPhone and yes, I do belt out the songs when I'm alone.
  • Avril Lavigne- this is an old one, but I still like listening to her-- especially "Complicated"
  • Awolnation- I'm going to be honest and tell you I have no idea who this is, but I ran up on a couple of their songs and I bought "Not Your Fault". I can't really describe their music so go check them out!
  • The Band Perry- this is only played at certain times. I can't decide if I like the band or not?!
  • Big Sean-- My Last
  • Blake Shelton- OMGeeee I could look at and listen to him all day long. Miranda is one lucky lady! Honey Bee, God Gave Me You, and Over are at the top of my list right now!
  • I need to add in Jermain Paul and Blake's "Soul Man"!
  • Bruno Mars- "Runaway Baby" always gets me up and moving!
  • Calvin Harris- "Feel So Close"
  • Carrie Underwood- "Good Girl"
  • Cee Lo Green- "Forget You"
  • Charlotte Sometimes- "Misery Business"- I Love The Voice!
  • Clay Walker- "She Won't Be Lonely Long"- no words necessary
  • Colbie Calliat- I really like a few of her songs, but I can't listen to them just any time of the day.
  • Eminem- I've always be a MM fan!
  • Eric Church- "Springsteen"- If you haven't listened to this yet go straight to iTunes!
  • Flo Rida- This isn't my usual style, but "Good Feeling" and "Wild One" are good!
  • Foo Fighters- "Best of You"
  • Foster the People- who hasn't heard "Pumped Up Kicks"??
  • Fun- "We are Young"
  • Gotye- "Somebody That I Used to Know"- who hasn't listened to this?
  • Jason Aldean- pretty much everything that comes out of his mouth- especially "My Kinda Party" and "Dirt Road Anthem"
  • Kanye West- "Heartless"-- now, I really don't care for Kanye, but I do like this song...
  • Katy Perry- "Part of Me"- go listen to this right now!
  • Kellie Pickler- "Best Days of Your Life"-- Kellie is just a cute, Southern girl.
  • Kelly Clarkson- "Never Again", "What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger" and "Mr. Know It All"
  • Lady Antebellum- "Dancing Away With My Heart"
  • Lindsey Pavao-- from the show The Voice- she didn't win, but I still bought two of her songs!
  • Luke Bryan- "Country Girl", "Drunk On You" and "I Don't Want This Night to End"-- Luke just came to my hometown for a concert and it was the best concert I've ever been too- non-stop energy the whole night!
  • Maroon 5- Sweet, sweet Adam! "Payphone", "Moves Like Jagger"
  • Miranda Lambert -- she is one BLESSED lady! "Over You" is sad, but sweet.
  • Neon Trees- "Everybody Talks"
  • Old Crow Medicine Show- "Wagon Wheel" always gets me singing!
  • One Direction- am I too old for them?
  • Rhianna- The songs I choose depend on my mood at that moment!
  • Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock- "It Takes Two"-- I had to have this the moment Ryan Reynold started singing it in "The Proposal"
  • Sara Bareilles- her voice is so smooth!
  • Sara Evans- "A Little Bit Stronger"
  • Tony Lucca- Another contestant from The Voice. He totally changed up "Baby One More Time" and I really like the rock beat.
  • Train- enough said
  • Zack Brown Band- he has the best sing-along songs!
Now, I realize this is A LOT of music, but these are what's playing on my iPod through out the day AND my new ride has a handy dandy bluetooth thingy that lets me play music from my iPhone rather than the radio or CDs.

My Facebook status at the moment is something I really like (found it on Pinterest!)---

... But the struggles make you stronger, the changes make you wiser, and happiness has its own way of taking its sweet time. Life isn't always beautiful but it's a beautiful ride...

Happy Tuesday!
